About Me
With a Master’s Degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I have used my writing and organizational skills in my professional and personal life. As a college teacher who moved into development work for colleges, I have many years of leadership, public speaking and event planning, in my background.
In my family life, I experienced my daughter’s wedding, the death of my mother, and my mother-in-law, and the birth of my grandson. In all these transitions, I witnessed the need to honor these passages with a special ceremony. Like most of us, we have participated in ceremonies that did not seem appropriate to the individuals involved, and other times when the officiants were able to capture their unique qualities. I wanted to become a Celebrant to provide a service of truly meaningful ceremonies to people in my area.
I am ordained as a non-denominational minister because I respect the beliefs and traditions of different faiths around the world. It is my privilege to work with you to provide a special ceremony for your occasion.
